Our People
William J. Eyerly, Jr., Ph.D. Cofounder and creator of Team Summit, Dr. William Eyerly has been energizing teams and developing and training sales staffs for over a decade. As Vice President of Corporate Development for Special Publications, Inc., Dr. Eyerly oversaw training and development of the magazine advertising sales team and developed licensed magazines in several Florida markets with combined annual circulation in excess of 1.2 million. Simultaneously, in 1994, Dr. Eyerly teamed up with Ocala magazine publishers Linda and Vinod Chhabra to found Asia America Marketing with offices in Florida as well as Bangalore, India. The company specialized in facilitating technology transfers and product licensing for small to medium U.S. companies to countries in the Pacific Rim. Still involved with Special Publications and Today Magazine Group as a writer and consultant, Dr. Eyerly is now a leading advocate of arts in education in Alachua County as Program Director for the Gainesville Association for the Creative Arts. He develops and teaches programs for children aged 5 -18 in all forms of visual and performing arts. He also oversees two extensive after school tutoring, enrichment, and sports programs at Howard Bishop and Lincoln Middle Schools. These combined experiences in corporate development and
team building domestically and internationally as well as 10 years of
direct teaching experience led Dr. Eyerly to develop the dynamic Team
Summit experience. Dr. Eyerly holds an MFA in Theatre as well as a Ph.
D. in Business with a special emphasis in Ethics from American College.
Robert Easton Mr. Easton earned his BS in Business Management at Virginia Tech in 1996. When he was 24 years old, he moved to Orlando to build one of Florida's first rock climbing facilities. Within two years, he expanded North to Gainesville - home of the University of Florida- to open his current rock climbing operation Gainesville Rock Gym, Inc. Mr. Easton and partners have been climbing some of America's greatest cliffs since 1989. Exploring his personal limits in these dangerous environments, where every action and word between partners is critical, taught him the importance of carefully choosing one's team and the magnitude of trust and communication. Another study for Mr. Easton in effective teamwork was working as a commercial fisherman in Kodiak, Alaska. With limited living space and long, grueling hours accomplishing dangerous tasks, it was essential to strike balance between personal wants and the goals of the team. Efficient communication between boats could mean the difference a big haul or an empty net. As lead instructor at Gainesville Rock Gym, Mr. Easton has developed a method of teaching new clients, many of whom have never even tied a knot, how to operate the rope and 'belay' systems competently. After teaching literally thousands of these classes, he has refined the lessons for how nascent climbers learn best: a combination of positive reinforcement, personal fulfillment, stressing the importance of safety, fun learning environment, and humor. Clients come away from the class with a new sense of self-confidence and trust with their partner. Team Summit is the confluence of Mr. Easton's hands-on experiences on building teams and effective communication lines combined with Dr. Eyerly's academic, business and theater foundation.
